I love the fragrant graceful Mimosa tree. I had a gorgeous one growing in the front of my house years ago that succomed to some sort of fungus that wiped out any that were around here. They don't seem to do very well in NJ and are apparently very frail when it comes to handling harsh winters, and are sensitive to many diseases.
It seems that they like very hot temperatures, and it is about 98 degrees here today. They are pretty much wild here now and I did some research on them. It seems they were imported in the 1700s as a ornamental and were called the silk tree. I went to NJ a few years back and it was 105 degrees here when I left and like 70 there. It was quite a relief. :)
